Description

We know it’s hackneyed to say a coffee is complex, nuanced, and presents a balanced full flavor.  But this coffee is exactly that.  You will experience Guatemala in a cup.  The grind aroma is an evening walk in a forest with a campfire in the distance.  It will warm you in deep.  It’s a great match for the medium roast profile that protects its varied flavor notes.  Think fruity sweetness and nuts in a medium body.  A superb coffee experience.

The Flavor Profile

TASTING NOTES

Look for notes of milk chocolate, nougat, red fruit, almond, and black cherry with a bit of citrus to brighten your mouthfeel. It is a perfectly balanced coffee that offers rich body and a clean, crisp after taste. We think it is an exceptional grind for your pour over or French press … clean extraction guaranteed.

The Story

This coffee has a compelling origin story, and we are proud to offer it to you. The producers are members of the La Morena cooperative in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala, a network of women-owned farms. Their exceptional product is a meaningful contribution to craft coffee and has been accomplished while advancing gender equality in the industry. That’s no small feat in Guatemala or any other coffee producing region. Open yourself to it and feel your heart chakras clear as you sip great coffee and perhaps reflect on its origin story.

Huehuetenango is the highest and driest coffee growing region in Guatemala with ideal conditions. It is one of only three non-volcanic regions in Guatemala contributing to the unique flavor of these coffee beans. The micro lot farms in the La Morena collective are in the mountainous region of Northeastern Guatemala at frost-protected elevations of 1200 to 1700 meters.
