Description

This coffee is about robust body.  It is not shy and stands up to be noticed.  Look for bold earthy notes and very low acidity. We think you will notice the exceptional mouthfeel that this coffee delivers.  The aroma from our grinder reminds us of walking into a humidor at a high-end tobacconist.

One of our tasters told us that the Sumatra roast plays his drip machine like a Stradivarius.  We think he is right.  It's clearly ready to grind for a pour over.  If you are espresso enabled, this bean won’t disappoint.

The Story

Lake Toba dominates the landscape on the northern end of Sumatra where a volcanic super-eruption occurred about 74,000 years ago. The Toba Super Eruption was one of the largest known volcanic eruptions and it has had a profound effect on the course of human existence. The Toba Caldera is one of earth’s largest active volcanos. Lucky for us, it is also ideal conditions for coffee growing.
